🌑 About Moontailors

Moontailors was born from a desire to blend the emotional depth of classic rock with the cinematic textures of modern production and the poetic storytelling of timeless music.

The band’s founder, Codrut Croitoru, — a seasoned composer, vocalist, Instrumentalist and producer — shaped the project after years of musical exploration and success on stage. With two full-length albums already released and a dedicated following in their home country of Romania (under the name Taylor), the band decided to reimagine its artistic identity for the international stage — thus, Moontailors was born in 2025.

What sets Moontailors apart in today’s rock landscape is their ability to seamlessly merge contrasting worlds:

The raw energy and soul of 70s rock
The anthemic power and romantic edge of 80s glam and pop-rock
The melancholy and elegance of gothic melodic rock
All wrapped in modern sound design, lyrical vulnerability, and a strong visual identity.

THE NAME, THE VISION

The name Moontailors is a metaphor.

We see ourselves as tailors —
not of fabric,
but of emotion, mood, shadow and light.

Tailors working under the moon,
in silence, with patience and poetry.

The moon represents the invisible side of life:
dreams, longing, silent wounds, and transformation.

We take all these things and we stitch them into music —
music you can truly feel.

Moontailors means:
"We sew the unseen into sound."
"We weave the night into melody."

It’s not a word you’ll find in the dictionary.
It’s a word we invented —
just like the music we make:
personal, emotional, and a little out of time.

Meet The Team

Codrut Croitoru

Lead vocals, guitar, keyboards, songwriter, arranger, producer-

Codrut is the creative force behind Moontailors. He began studying piano at the age of 7, continuing for 12 years at the local School of Arts. Alongside piano, he also pursued guitar and vocal training.

He later earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in pop/rock/jazz composition from Romania’s most prestigious music school – the National University of Music Bucharest – where he studied under legendary Romanian musician Anton Suteu.

Throughout his career, Codrut has been the lead vocalist for several renowned Romanian bands, including Compact, Pasărea Rock, Schimbul 3, Meșterii Rock, and Taylor (the last two still active today). He has received numerous awards for both his vocal performances and his original compositions, and he frequently serves as a jury member at national music festivals.

Within Moontailors, Codrut is responsible for writing, arranging, producing, mixing, and mastering all the songs.

Bryan Adams, Whitesnake, Queen, Pink Floyd, Roxette, Bon Jovi, Muse, Him, The 69 Eyes are just a few of his favorite artists.

Florian Laghia

Guitar-

In addition to being the band’s guitarist, Florian is also a passionate music educator, teaching both guitar and drums. Over the years, he has performed as either a guitarist or a drummer with a variety of Romanian artists and bands, including Aron, Rafael, Accent, Premier, Radu Gheorghe Celălalt, and Taylor (the last two still active).

His guitar heroes include David Gilmour, Steve Lukather, and John Petrucci — musicians who have deeply influenced his expressive playing style.Always focused when the music demands it, yet always ready to lift the silence with a smile, Florian doesn’t just play strings — he touches hearts. His guitar solos are a balm for the soul.

Outside of music, Florian has a love for cooking. He’s known among the band for regularly sharing photos of his culinary creations, much to the delight (and envy) of his fellow bandmates.

Victor Iovan

Bass Guitar-

The king of low frequencies, Victor is calmness incarnate — or at least that’s what he wants us to believe! 😄 With a warm smile and the right words at the right time, he has a way of making any tough situation feel just a little lighter.

He has performed with bands such as Premier and Schimbul 3, always laying down a solid, reliable groove. Victor owns two bass guitars — both with four strings — firmly believing that more than that is simply unnecessary. 😄

His favorite bands include Queen, Pink Floyd, Blink 182,Def Leppard,Greta van Fleet, Pretty Maids, Gotthard

Robert Sabotici

Drums-

Robert started studying drums before he even had a drum kit! Always quick with a joke, he brings laughter wherever he goes — and occasionally tosses a drumstick or two into the crowd... or toward a bandmate if the moment calls for it!

He’s a drummer driven by pure passion. Known for his rhythmic precision, every strike of his sticks is an explosion of energy and emotion. Robert began playing alongside Codrut Croitoru back in high school with their very first band, The Crown, and continued throughout their student years. They reunited later in Schimbul 3 and now perform together in Taylor, as well as Moontailors.

Internationally, Moontailors marks his first cross-border musical venture — as it does for the rest of the band. His favorite artists include Queen, Toto, and Deep Purple.

Alexia Stefan

Backing vocals-

Alexia has been taking part in talent competitions and music festivals since early childhood, earning various awards along the way. With a sincere and straightforward attitude, she is a constant support to the band — both on stage and off.

She enjoys listening to the favorite artists of her fellow bandmates, but as a representative of a younger generation, she also brings a fresh perspective and love for modern rock acts such as Imagine Dragons and Teddy Swims.

Bianca Stefan

Backing vocals-

The youngest member of the band — and Alexia’s sister — Bianca may have a reputation for being the quiet one, but among friends and bandmates she’s anything but. Always smiling, always talking, and always (politely) reminding everyone just how young she is. 😄

With contagious energy and a cheerful presence, Bianca has also earned numerous awards over the years by participating in specialized music competitions and festivals.
